Smear

plaster, acrylic paint, 72 nails.

The sculptures I produce usually materialise from throw-away ideas and experimentations. This particular installation arose from a mark making exercise, which lead to efforts to reproduce the marks made but in a 3D form. It became an exploration into the trace that the body can leave on an object or material, whilst trying to realise a 2D form to 3D.
